Attend A GOPTO Meeting
GOPTO meetings are typically held the 1st Tuesday of the month, Sept-June, at 7-8pm, alternating between Gibbs and Ottoson. All parents, guardians, teachers and supporting staff of Gibbs and Ottoson students are welcome to attend. The principals are often present as well.

Join the PTO Board or Volunteer
See our board members and open positions, and check out our current volunteer opportunities. We also have subcommittees that allow parents/caregivers to work on specific causes or assist specific board members, or perhaps you have a cause in mind that you wish to take the lead on. The best way to find out what our needs are or bring an idea forward, is to email us or come to a meeting.
School Communications
PowerSchool
PowerSchool is the system the district uses to create school schedules, manage attendance, issue grades, and course selection, and most importantly send email communications from principals, teachers, and administration. If you suspect that you are not receiving principal and district emails:
Make sure that your profile and contact information (email address especially) in PowerSchool profile is up to date. If the portal is closed contact your school's Adminstrative Assistant.
Add spe.schoolmessenger.com and arlington.k12.ma.us to your safe senders list to prevent the messages from going to junk/spam.
If you are using Gmail, take the extra step of setting up a filter that sends messages from spe.schoolmessenger.com and arlington.k12.ma.us to go to your Primary folder (Gmail has a habit of sending to Promotions).
