Attend A Meeting
General meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7pm, unless otherwise noted. All parents, guardians, teachers and supporting staff of Gibbs and Ottoson students are always welcome to attend. Our principals are often present as well.

Parent volunteers from GO PTO compile and edit a Weekly Update e-newsletter for Gibbs and Ottoson families. It is sent out on Mondays and contains announcements and reminders about upcoming events and activities at the school and in town that are relevant to middle school students.
Subscribe to the newsletter. Remember to add firstname.lastname@example.org to your safe senders list as well so that it doesn't go to junk/spam.
Share news with us! Information about town- or school-sponsored events that you would like to share with the Gibbs and/or Ottoson communities can also be included in the Weekly Update. See the guidelines and how to submit content.
See our board postions and current volunteer opportunities. We also often have subcommittees that allow parents/caregivers to work on specific causes, or perhaps you have a cause in mind that you wish to take the lead on. Email us to inquire, or come to a meeting.
PowerSchool is the district's system used to send communications from principals and administration, create school schedules, manage attendance, issue grades, and course selection.
If you suspect that you are missing out on principal and district emails:
Make sure that your profile and contact information (email address especiually) in PowerSchool profile is up to date.
Add spe.schoolmessenger.com and arlington.k12.ma.us to your safe senders list to prevent the messages from going to junk/spam.
If you are using Gmail, take the extra step of setting up a filter that sends messages from spe.schoolmessenger.com and arlington.k12.ma.us to go to your Inbox (Gmail has a habit of sending them to Promotions).
Need more help? Contact the APS Digital Learning Department. For the 2020-2021 school year the Digital Learning Department has created the following form, APS Parent/Guardian Ed Tech Support for you to request help for your student(s) with apps, devices, and digital learning resources (i.e. Zoom, Google apps, etc.).
